Abstract

Problems that arise in the process of machine translation are still subject to serious dedication, in order to eliminate errors, even though the technology of machine translation has undergone tremendous progress. This paper will present a comparative analysis of the translation of the most frequent phrases from the German language into the Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian languages, using an instrument or tool for machine translation. The questions to be answered are: what types of errors most often appear when translating phrases from German to Bosnian, Croatian, Serbian, and whether machine translation has progressed to the level where it can replace humans. The most common machine translation machine today is, of course, Google Translate, and for this reason it was chosen as the most adequate choice for the analysis of the machine translation of the most common phrases from the German language into Bosnian, Croatian, and Serbian.
